| 内容記述 | The purpose of this paper is to present the properties of the demand for direct information and indirect information in price search. The conclusions are that the demand for indirect information depends on price distribution and that if a consumer needs indirect information at some stage, then he needs it at earlier stages also. The model has a hierarchical structure in search process. The selling prices of retailers are direct information and the list prices of manufactures are indirect information when manufactures produce a homogeneous good. for the purpose of simplification we assume that there are two prices for a homogeneous product in the model. One is a low price and the other is a high price. We assume that a consumer knows the probability distribution of prices of all the sellers. The conclusions above are examined empirically using selling prices and list prices in advertising. | |||||
