The conclusions are that the demand for indirect information depends on price distribution and that if a consumer needs indirect information at some stage, then he needs it at earlier stages also. The model has a hierarchical structure in search process. The selling prices of retailers are direct information and the list prices of manufactures are indirect information when manufactures produce a homogeneous good. for the purpose of simplification we assume that there are two prices for a homogeneous product in the model. One is a low price and the other is a high price. We assume that a consumer knows the probability distribution of prices of all the sellers.
